In the Print Studio: Janet Milner
Congratulations to lps studio member Janet Milner, whose screenprint Earth, Wind and Fire was selected for this years RA Summer Exhibition. We are also delighted to be exhibiting this popular print in our 2014 Members Summer Show – there’s still time to catch the show which runs until Saturday 23rd August.
During the past few weeks Janet has been working on an ongoing series of text works calledunremarkable sentences which are records of her own everyday personal experiences. Including the above multi-colour screenprint Kick up the Arse.
Her work is a celebration of ordinariness, a reflection of her fascination with the commonality of clutter and the mundane experiences that surround identity and human life. Throwaway remarks and objects are presented in an intriguing way.
Janet lives and works in London, she has a BA in Printed Textiles from Liverpool Polytechnic and an MA in Printmaking from Camberwell College of Art. She worked for more than 20 years in design and illustration for a list of clients including Conran, Heals, Liberty, Harvey Nichols, John Lewis, Mitchell Beazley, Barneys and Neiman Marcus USA and Seibu Japan.
You can also spot Janet’s work at this years Multiplied Art Fair, where we will be featuring prints with the lps Gallery.
