Introduction to Stone Lithography Course
2 day course – 10.30am – 5.30pm
All participants will work on one stone. Each participant will produce their own A5, hand drawn image produced in a small edition.
Skills you will learn on the course:
Preparation of a litho stone (cleaning a stone).
How to create your image on the stone (different drawing possibilities of lithographic materials).
Preparing the stone for printing (chemistry of stone litho).
Printing a stone and how to edition.
Basic requirements for the course:
Suitable for beginners or as a refresher. No prior art or printmaking knowledge needed.
Brief warning about Stone Lithography: This workshop is physically demanding due to the nature of the press. Please make sure that you are fit and well before booking.
