15th September – 24th November 2012
Celebrating its first year as a partner of the London Design Festival, londonprintstudio presents ‘Reincarnation’, an exhibition featuring artists and designers who breathe new life into old styles, creatively employing discarded materials, processes and identities in graphic art.
This exhibition, events and series of demonstrations features artists and designers working with the theme of reincarnation. They have produced art objects and images that are intriguing, and sometimes surprising, with hidden and overt histories and references.
Co-curator and londonprintstudio director John Phillips said ‘Whether fun, innovative, imaginative or poignant, recycling plays an ever-increasing role in contemporary life and design. It is a means to reference the past, a strategy for ecological responsibility, an escape from digital ubiquity and a way to make ends meet.’ The exhibition is supported by practical demonstrations that will open many new creative opportunities to artists and designers.
Please come join us for the opening of Reincarnation on Saturday 15th September 2012 to get involved in practical demonstrations within the print studio, browse in our new Gallery shop featuring products from new artists and designers and to enjoy the artwork on display.
Reincarnation features work by: Aardvark (Lesley and Pea), Peter Clayton, David Ferry, Lynn Hatzius, Deirdre Kelly, Ian Kirkpatrick, Justin Larkin, Christopher Mercier, Echo Morgan, Daniel Mort, Matthew Pagett, Carrie Reichardt, The Soft City. The Exhibition was co-curated by John Phillips and Helena Bradbury.
