Screen Printing

We offer both Introductory and Intermediate Courses in Screenprinting.

The Introduction to Screenprinting Courses explore the different techniques for developing screenprint, initially using paper and hand painted stencils and then moving onto photographic stencils and combinations of the two.

The Intermediate Screenprinting Courses give a more comprehensive understanding of the technique and procedure involved in screenprinting. It focuses on professional workshop practice and editioning with multiple layers/colours.

Intaglio Printmaking refers to a printing method in which the printing elements are all below the plate surface, having been cut, scratched, engraved, or etched into the plate to form ink-retaining grooves.

We offer offer Introductory and Intermediate Courses in different forms of Intaglio Printmaking including Etching & Photopolymer.

Stone Lithography is a printing method that is based on the principle that oil and water do not mix. Using a greasy substance, an image is drawn or painted on to a flat stone.  The stone is then processed and printed.

We offer both Introductory and Intermediate Courses in Stone Lithography.

Letterpress is a term for the relief printing of text and image using a ‘type high’ printing press, in which a reversed, raised surface is inked and then pressed in to a sheet of paper to obtain an image.

We offer Introductory Courses in Photopolymer for Vandercook Letterpress which focus on using photopolymer plates, on which digital artwork can be exposed and then printed using the Vandercook press.

MA Printmaking

Based at londonprintstudio and run in conjunction with New Buckinghamshire University, this course aims to develop innovative professional printmakers, whilst giving students the opportunity to follow and explore their own personal programme of study. The course offers a great opportunity for people from different backgrounds and disciplines to extend their knowledge, skills and practice.
