There is no work placement as part of the regular course load, but students are encouraged to link their studies to professional practices beyond the university and londonprintstudio.
- How much studio access will I have outside teaching hours?
Students on the part time course will have 2 days of studio access each week at londonprintstudio. Studio days are arranged by booking time in advance, and the choice of working days can be very flexible.
Students on the full time course will have 4 days of studio access each week at Buckinghamshire New University.
- Where is the graduate show held?
Students at londonprintstudio will have their graduate show in the londonprintstudio gallery space.
- How much does it cost? What costs are there beyond tuition fees?
Up-to-date course fees are available from the Bucks website at www.bucks.ac.uk. Students are also responsible for covering extra material costs such as inks and paper.
General studio materials such as acids, newsprint, and tissue are included.
- How much contact time would I have with my tutor?
Part time students have six contact hours with their tutor.
- Do I get a studio space?
You will have access to studios, libraries and computer resources, but there is limited storage available at londonprintstudio. The studio is run as a professional, open-access resource for artists and as such, you will be working alongside professionals in the field.
- How many applicants will be accepted onto the course?
12 to 15 applicants will be accepted each year.
- How much technical support will I have in the studios?
There is always a technician available in the studios, but students will be expected to work independently. You will receive basic inductions into screenprint, etching and lithography, as well as a basic computer induction. Further support can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
- Will I be based in London or Buckinghamshire?
Part time students will be based in London with Buckinghamshire New University providing resources for research strategies, written work, and additional lecture programmes.
